NEW ADULT BIBLE FELLOWSHIPS - Spring 2008

ADULT BIBLE FELLOWSHIPS—9:45 AM

►BMW–Biblical Manhood & Womanhood—Worship Center
“So God created man in his own image…male and female he created them” (Gen 1:27). Equal in dignity and value, yet designed by God to reflect His image in unique ways. What does this mean for marriage? What about ministry roles in the church? What does Scripture teach? Pastor Doug will lead BMW, using a DVD resource featuring theologian Dr. Wayne Grudem.

►FISH–Personal Evangelism—Rockies ABF Room
“Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:17). Explore the tack and tackle of personal evangelism—purposefully spending time with the spiritually lost and discerning opportunities to speak personally with them about Jesus Christ. Pastor Grant will use several DVD resources which will equip you to FISH.

ESPANOL–Spanish ABF—Sierras ABF Room: Our Spanish-speaking friends will continue to meet together for fellowship and study of God’s Word.

Purpose

Summit Church's Adult Ministries exist to draw people into life-changing relationships with Christ and equip them with the truth of God's Word through authentic, caring communities.

Vision

Our Adult Ministries vision is be a place where all adults can build the connections they need to grow to become like Christ. Our desire is to see adults become mature followers of Christ who are able to serve others in ministry. We seek to do this through a variety of ministries that touch people where they're at; on Sunday mornings at church or during the week at work or home.

We have several ministries that are aimed at accomplishing our purpose and vision for men and women at Summit Church:

Adult Bible Fellowship

Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) is a great place to share a cup of coffee and have a laugh or two with others who are in the same age or stage of life as you are, while learning more about what the Bible teaches about God and us. Our ABF is designed to be a low-key place where we can all build caring relationships as people pray for us and help us face the everyday challenges of life.

1:10 Discipleship groups

Our 1:10 groups are the small group ministry of Summit Church, based on Colossians 1:10: "that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every work, growing in the knowledge of God." Our hope is for each group to become a small community of Christ-followers who are deeply committed to caring for each other and encouraging one another to become more like Christ. Our small groups are hothouses of high commitment, high growth and high acceptance.

Singles Ministry

Our "Single-Hearted" Ministry meets twice monthly on the first and third Saturday evenings, seeking to create a place for singles of all ages to meet and share the events of their lives; a place to discover and build meaningful relationships with other Christian adult singles and a place where you can serve Christ and others.

Women's Ministry

Our Women's Ministry is committed to inspire women to embrace the life of Christ, reflect His identity in their uniqueness, investing in others to go and do likewise. Some practical keys to unlocking this vision in the life of Summit Church include: Bible studies, various caring ministries, fellowship groups, retreats and an outreach to Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS). Our MOPS ministry meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 9:30 AM during the school year. We plan a monthly outing/activity geared for fun and relaxation, including: games, special speakers, trips, and more! Our desire is to equip busy women to influence their families, neighbors and communities for Christ.

Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry at Summit seeks to provide opportunities for men to develop real friendships with other men that go deeper than the weather, work or power tools. Some of these opportunities include: Promise Keeper events, a Men's Winter Retreat, sporting events, and other exciting events that appeal to guys. The goal is to encourage men to become the man God has designed them to be at work, home or play.
